Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the JK Police Constable positions, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Domicile: Applicants must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and have a valid Domicile Certificate issued by a competent authority.
- Age Limit:
- General Category: 18 to 28 years
- In-Service Police Personnel: Up to 30 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Eligible for age relaxation up to 3 years beyond the standard limit
- Educational Qualification:
- Constable (Armed/IRP): Candidates must have completed Matriculation which is equivalent to 10 standard.
- Constable (Telecommunication): Candidates must have completed 10+2 with science subjects.
- Constable (Photographer): Candidates must have completed 10+2 with science, a 6-month computer course, and 2 years of experience in videography or photography.

Selection Process
To qualify for this exam,candidates must clear the following stages:
- Written Examination: This is the first step where an objective type test will be conducted in English with multiple-choice questions.
- Physical Standard Test (PST):
- For Males: For male candidates minimum height is required 5 feet 6 inches and their chest size should be 32 inches when unexpanded and 33.5 inches when expanded.
- For Females: Minimum height required for female candidates is 5 feet 2 inches.
- Relaxation : Candidates who belong to Gorkha and Bot tribes will get relaxation of 2 inches in height.
- Physical Endurance Test (PET):
- For Males: Candidates need to complete 1600 meters race in 6.5 minutes and also they need to perform 20 push-ups.
- For Females: Female candidates need to complete the 1000 meters race in 6.5 minutes and also they need to throw 4kg shot put to a distance of 14.5 feet in three attempts.
- Document Verification: Those candidates who pass the PST and PET will undergo document verification.
